About the Role: Overnight Lead Department Manager
As an Overnight Lead Department Manager, you’ll be responsible for guiding the overnight stocking team in line with priorities set by the Overnight Assistant Manager and daytime management. You’ll assess merchandise presentation, identify issues, and take corrective action to keep the store looking its best. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining store safety and security during overnight hours.
This position requires someone who is comfortable working independently and making sound decisions when management isn’t present. You’ll handle accident management during the overnight shift when needed, inspect facilities for compliance, and actively participate in the training and development of overnight associates to drive strong production results.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $20.85 per hour. Responsibilities
The Overnight Lead Department Manager plays a pivotal role in keeping Walmart’s store operations running efficiently through the night. From directing the stocking team to ensuring store safety and compliance, every part of this role contributes directly to the customer experience the following morning.
- Assist in directing the overnight stocking team in line with priorities set by the Overnight Assistant Manager and daytime management
- Assess merchandise presentation and store appearance, identifying deficiencies and executing required merchandising display changes
- Ensure defective merchandise is routed to the claims room in a timely and organized manner
- Maintain store safety and security during the overnight shift in the absence of the Overnight Assistant Manager
- Manage accidents that occur during the overnight shift when the Overnight Assistant Manager is not present
- Inspect store premises to confirm adequate security measures are in place and that physical facilities meet compliance standards
