Member Service Assistant – Costco – Mississauga, ON

Costco’s Mississauga location on Dundas Street East is looking for a Member Service Assistant to join their warehouse team. This front-line role puts you at the heart of the member experience — from the moment shoppers walk through the entrance to when they head home with their purchases.

This position is all about member interaction, warehouse safety, and security monitoring. You’ll be moving throughout the warehouse on foot and using your personal vehicle to keep operations running safely and smoothly every shift.

About the Role: Member Service Assistant

As a Member Service Assistant at Costco Mississauga, your day revolves around welcoming members, verifying membership cards, and ensuring the warehouse environment stays safe and organized. You’ll conduct hourly safety and security checks, identify and correct hazards like spills or blocked exits, and complete inspection forms to keep the duty manager informed. Counting member entries with a handheld counter and reporting half-hourly tallies is also part of the routine.

Beyond the entrance, you’ll monitor warehouse access, oversee armored transport arrivals, and assist with receipt checks at the exit — thanking members as they leave. A valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle are required, as you’ll also conduct perimeter security checks from your vehicle after hours and watch for any suspicious activity to report or escalate as needed.

Responsibilities

Working as a Member Service Assistant means staying active and engaged throughout every shift. From safety inspections to member interactions, each task plays a key role in keeping the Costco warehouse secure and welcoming for everyone who walks through the doors.

• Greet and verify members at the entrance, confirming membership cards and offering carts as needed
• Conduct hourly warehouse safety and security checks on foot, identifying hazards such as spills, trip risks, and blocked exits
• Complete inspection forms and report findings to the duty manager after each walkthrough
• Track member entry counts using a handheld counter and submit half-hourly reports to the Front End team
• Monitor warehouse access, including overseeing armored transport arrivals and discretely observing deposit pickups and drawer setups
• Check member receipts at the exit, verifying accuracy against merchandise, and thank members as they leave
• Perform perimeter security checks using your personal vehicle and monitor after-hours exit doors via two-way radio
• Direct members to product locations and coordinate loading or shopping assistance as requested
• Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills

This role is well-suited to someone who is comfortable on their feet, takes safety and security seriously, and genuinely enjoys interacting with people. No prior experience is required — Costco is looking for candidates with the right attitude and a commitment to member service.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver’s licence and personal vehicle required for after-hours perimeter checks
• Strong interpersonal skills — you’ll be the first and last point of contact for members each visit
• Attention to detail when conducting safety inspections and verifying receipts
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgements when reporting security concerns
• For positions at Quebec locations, the ability to communicate in French (oral and written) is required
