Responsibilities

As a Grocery Department Manager, your day-to-day work blends hands-on leadership with operational oversight. You’ll be delegating tasks, following up on completion, coaching associates, and ensuring customers always get the help they need — all within a well-maintained, safe department.

  • Greet and assist all customers in a polite and friendly manner, helping them locate merchandise, promoting products and services, and resolving issues where appropriate
  • Delegate and follow up on Customer Availability Process tasks including section work, capping bins, and stocking picks
  • Oversee price changes and feature sets, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time
  • Manage modular completion in the assigned grocery area, keeping product placement consistent and organized
  • Support salesfloor coverage in required areas as needed, including recovery and zoning activities
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment by completing safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure and free of debris
  • Coordinate associate breaks in accordance with coverage requirements
  • Train, coach, and provide feedback to associates to support their development and performance
