About the Role: General Merchandise Associate
As a General Merchandise Associate, your primary focus will be delivering excellent customer service while keeping the general merchandise area fully stocked, zoned, and visually tidy. You’ll greet customers warmly, help them locate products, and step in to resolve concerns when needed. Beyond customer interactions, you’ll handle merchandise recovery, move feature products to their modular homes, and assist with front-end coverage as required.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day work as a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart Simcoe is varied and hands-on. You’ll be constantly moving between customer service interactions, shelf stocking, and maintaining a well-zoned salesfloor — all while keeping safety and store standards front of mind.
- Greet and assist all customers in a polite and friendly manner, helping them locate merchandise and make informed purchase decisions
- Promote products and services on the floor and refer customer concerns to the appropriate team members when needed
- Cover and zone assigned salesfloor areas, ensuring merchandise is properly organized and visually appealing
- Move feature merchandise to its designated modular home and complete modular sets, including flex modulars and new shelf caps
- Work recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas throughout the store
- Assist with Front End coverage as required and communicate with associates to maintain proper floor coverage
- Stock merchandise, pick, and downstock as applicable, applying product protection where required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free environment by following company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure
