About the Role: Forecast Modelling Analyst
As a Forecast Modelling Analyst at Canadian Tire, you’ll use both traditional statistical methods and advanced machine learning techniques to identify and quantify sales drivers. You’ll design digestible reporting, develop user-friendly tools, and conduct what-if scenario analysis to measure the causal impact of results. Your work will be integrated directly into key merchandising decisions, including assortment selection, product forecasting, and replenishment planning.
You’ll collaborate closely with Merchandising, Forecasting, and Promotions teams to ensure model predictions are explainable, consistent with business intuition, and smoothly embedded into existing processes. You’ll also take on a subject matter expert role for forecasting systems and lead projects to implement new functionality, including automation — making your contributions visible and impactful across the business.
Benefits and Salary
The broadband salary range for this position is $53,000 – $88,000, with a typical hiring range of $53,000 to $70,000. Final compensation depends on your experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities
This role covers a wide spectrum of analytical work — from quick ad-hoc analysis to long-term strategic projects. As the Forecast Modelling Analyst, you’ll be expected to manage competing priorities, support system operations, and continuously push forward the company’s advanced analytics roadmap. - Apply traditional analytics and predictive/statistical modelling techniques to identify and quantify sales drivers and measure causal impact
- Conduct what-if scenario analysis to support key merchandising decisions such as assortment selection and replenishment
- Collaborate with Merchandising, Forecasting, and Promotions teams to ensure model outputs are explainable and integrated into business processes
- Design and build user-friendly tools and reporting that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders
- Plan and manage multiple work requests simultaneously, ranging from urgent support issues to formal long-term project implementations
- Maintain and support forecasting systems, reports, and end-user computing tools to ensure operational continuity
- Lead projects to implement new functionality including automation of existing processes
- Serve as the subject matter expert for forecasting processes and provide direction on special projects
Requirements / Skills
