About the Role: Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance
As a Financial Analyst in the Corporate Finance team, you’ll be responsible for a wide range of analytical work — from evaluating potential acquisitions and partnerships to developing and maintaining sophisticated financial models that inform capital decisions. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be involved in a broad mix of corporate finance activities — from modelling and valuation to executive-level reporting. The work you produce will directly support CTC’s leadership in making informed strategic and capital decisions across the enterprise.
- Perform financial analysis related to potential acquisitions, partnerships, strategic projects, and investment initiatives to assess value creation and key financial metrics
- Develop and maintain the Total Shareholder Return (TSR) model and become the subject matter expert for TSR, valuation, and performance benchmarking
- Consolidate financials from business units and corporate groups to summarize performance metrics related to M&A opportunities and strategic initiatives
- Support the estimation of enterprise-level hurdle rates, impairment WACC, and capital allocation planning including capex, dividends, and share repurchases
- Collect and analyze market, peer group, and macro data for capital allocation, Plan and Outlook projections, portfolio management, and scenario planning
- Build financial models including pro forma M&A models, sensitivity models, and long-range financial projections to support decision making
- Prepare financial analysis comparing results to prior year, budget, forecast, or trends — covering income statements, balance sheets, and working capital
- Create and update PowerPoint presentations and communications for the Executive Team, CFO, and Board of Directors
- Support the Enterprise Investment Planning team with monthly and quarterly reporting, strategic plans, and forecasts on a periodic basis
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in corporate finance and financial modelling, paired with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. - University degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related discipline is required
- Financial designation (CA, CFA, CMA) or MBA is considered a strong asset
- Minimum 2–3 years of progressive experience in a finance or analytical role with emphasis on corporate finance, financial modelling, and analysis; strong knowledge of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements required
- Strong financial acumen including modelling, business case development, and financial valuation methodologies
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint (including data visualization); familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, or Hyperion is an asset
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to work through ambiguous problems with minimal direction
- Strong executive communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial analysis clearly to senior leadership
