About the Role: Employee Services Specialist
Reporting to the AVP, the Employee Services Specialist is responsible for resolving day-to-day employee inquiries while maintaining deep knowledge of Workday business processes, HR programs, policies, and offerings across the enterprise. You’ll ensure all cases are properly categorized, documented, and actioned based on urgency, engaging partner teams where needed to drive timely resolutions. A core part of the role involves identifying patterns across interactions and contributing feedback that informs knowledge article updates, training materials, and process improvements.
This position demands strong self-management, team collaboration, and the ability to escalate complex or time-sensitive matters appropriately. You’ll be accountable for learning new Workday functionality as it rolls out, contributing to cyclical HR events, and participating in projects aimed at enhancing the employee experience from an enterprise-wide perspective. Bilingual capability in English and French is considered an asset.
Benefits and Salary
The broadband salary range for this position is $27.00 to $45.00, with a typical hiring range of $27.00 to $36.00. Final compensation depends on experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities
As the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, the Employee Services Specialist plays a central role in keeping HR operations running smoothly across the enterprise. You’ll be managing a steady volume of cases daily while also contributing to the knowledge infrastructure that helps both employees and internal teams navigate Workday processes efficiently.
- Manage a high volume of employee inquiries via case management, phone, and email while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR programs and Workday business processes
- Document and categorize all incoming cases accurately, actioning them based on urgency and escalating complex matters to the appropriate partner teams
- Identify and report on trends, opportunities, and experiences to inform Workday Help training updates and internal process documentation
- Maintain and update Knowledge Articles within the established framework, including documents requested by Centres of Excellence (COEs)
- Support the annual review of all case questionnaires to ensure alignment with continuous improvement and employee experience goals
- Provide Workday access to terminated employees when automation is unavailable, following required authentication protocols
- Participate in projects related to the enhancement of the employee experience using an enterprise-wide lens
- Collaborate with partner teams to deliver effective HR processes, best practices, and initiatives aligned with organizational standards
Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a solid foundation in Human Resources combined with hands-on Workday experience and a genuine drive to improve the employee experience. - 2–4 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years of functional Workday experience and prior case management work
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong knowledge of Workday business processes, dependencies, and Workday Help functionality
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal; bilingualism in English and French is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Jira and SharePoint
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Business acumen and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential employee information
