About the Role: Data Scientist
Day to day, you’ll be managing store payroll spend analysis, leading planning and budgeting activities, and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency and revenue growth across 550+ retail locations. You’ll leverage store financial data — including income statement data — to build models and dashboards that actually get used at the decision-making level.
This role also puts you at the forefront of automation and self-serve analytics, building tools that empower store teams to drive value on their own. Responsibilities

Requirements / Skills
The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of analytical rigour and business acumen, with the ability to communicate complex findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Minimum 2 years of experience in a business, analytics, or finance role
- Python, SQL, or other coding languages with hands-on experience in Azure Synapse and/or Databricks
- Strong communication skills — ability to present analysis confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Problem solving and strategic thinking — ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results under pressure
- Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is considered an asset
- Knowledge of data management tools such as Knime or Alteryx is an asset
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) or a master’s degree in MMA, MBA, or analytics is an asset
- Prior experience in machine learning or predictive analytics is an asset
