Customer Service Desk Associate – Walmart – Thunder Bay, ON
Walmart Canada’s Thunder Bay location on Arthur Street West is looking for a Customer Service Desk Associate to join their team. If you’re someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, this role puts you right at the heart of the store’s customer-facing operations.
As the first point of contact for customers navigating returns, exchanges, and questions, you’ll represent Walmart’s values every shift. Whether you’re processing a refund, directing a shopper to the right aisle, or maintaining accurate records, your work directly shapes the experience customers have — and keeps them coming back.
About the Role: Customer Service Desk Associate
In this position, you’ll handle the full range of customer service desk operations, from processing returns and exchanges to managing sales tax-exempt records and claims for damaged merchandise. You’ll follow Walmart’s established procedures to ensure accuracy, security, and consistency at the front end of the store. Every transaction you handle contributes to the store’s overall integrity and customer satisfaction.
This is a Regular/Permanent role with a flexible schedule covering mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights — including weekends and holidays. The ability to stay focused and organized during high-volume periods is key, as is the physical stamina to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Teamwork and a positive attitude go a long way in this environment.
Benefits and Salary
The minimum rate of pay starts at $17.75 per hour. Beyond your hourly wage, Walmart Canada offers a solid benefits package that includes comprehensive benefits and life insurance (based on hours or employment status), paid time off, a store discount, stock options, deferred profit sharing, and access to the Live Better U education program and EQ Health support.
