Responsibilities
A FedEx Courier’s day is built around movement, precision, and service. You’ll be responsible for executing a structured delivery route, ensuring packages reach their destinations on time while upholding the quality standards FedEx is known for. Every interaction — whether at a business or a front door — reflects the brand.
- Pick up and deliver packages on an assigned route in a courteous and efficient manner
- Verify shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service before and during delivery
- Provide customer service functions in relation to pick-up, delivery, and shipment inquiries
- Handle packages safely, including lifting up to 70 lbs and manoeuvring packages up to 150 lbs using appropriate equipment
- Comply with training requirements, including pre-placement driver assessments and all recurrence training
- Adapt to varying schedules based on business needs, including working on holidays when required
- Operate in a PC Windows environment as needed for route and shipment management
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for candidates who are dependable, physically capable, and genuinely focused on customer satisfaction. The ideal Courier brings solid time management skills, a valid Class G driver’s licence (no G2), and the ability to stay composed under pressure while keeping service quality high.
- Valid full Class G driver’s licence (G2 is not acceptable) with a good driving record — two or fewer violations/accidents in the past 24 months
- High school diploma or educational equivalent
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
- One year of customer-oriented business experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle stress in a high-pressure environment
- Knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is considered an asset
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and holidays based on operational needs
