About the Role: Courier
The core of this position is efficient and courteous package pickup and delivery on an assigned route. You’ll be responsible for checking all shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service and handling related customer service functions as they arise. This is an interview position, and candidates must meet all driver requirements including a valid licence and a clean driving record. Compliance with FedEx standards and Canadian Customs regulations is part of the job, and you’ll be expected to complete all mandatory training and maintain any applicable annual accreditations. Responsibilities
Every shift as a FedEx Courier puts you on the road with a clear purpose — getting packages to customers accurately and on time. Your responsibilities span both the physical handling of shipments and the interpersonal side of customer-facing delivery work.
- Pick up and deliver packages efficiently on an assigned route
- Verify shipments for conformance to Federal Express Canada features of service
- Provide customer service functions related to pickups, deliveries, and general inquiries
- Lift and manoeuvre packages weighing up to 70 lbs, and up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
- Complete mandatory training and maintain all required annual accreditations
- Operate in a PC Windows environment as needed for route and shipment management
- Work flexible schedules including holidays based on business needs
Requirements / Skills
FedEx is looking for a dependable, safety-conscious driver who can handle the demands of a fast-paced courier environment. Strong customer service instincts and physical readiness are key to succeeding in this role.
- High school diploma or educational equivalent
- Valid driver’s licence with a good driving record (no more than two violations/accidents in the past 24 months)
- Physical capability to lift 70 lbs and manoeuvre packages up to 150 lbs with equipment
- One year of customer-oriented business experience preferred
- Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and ability to multitask under pressure
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and holidays as required
