Communications Specialist – Amazon – Toronto, ON
Location: Toronto, ON | Company: Amazon
Amazon Canada is looking for a Communications Specialist to join its International Stores and Corporate Communications team, based at the Amazon Toronto Tech Hub. This is a strategic, high-visibility role for a seasoned PR professional who thrives at the intersection of earned media, corporate storytelling, and stakeholder engagement — all in one of the most dynamic tech environments in the country.
Beyond managing Amazon’s broader corporate reputation in Canada, this role also leads communications for Amazon Ads, telling the story of how the business delivers AI-powered, full-funnel advertising at scale — from Prime Video and Live Sports streaming to advanced ad tech serving businesses of every size. If you’re a strong writer with deep media relationships and a nose for a compelling narrative, this is a role worth exploring.
About the Role: Communications Specialist
Day to day, you’ll be driving proactive public relations plans that put Amazon’s positive impact front and centre — highlighting how the company creates value for Canadian customers, employees, communities, and the broader economy. You’ll lead earned, paid, social, and owned media strategies, plan experiential events, and serve as a trusted spokesperson representing Amazon with media and external stakeholders.
Internally, this role connects across multiple business units — including Public Policy, Retail, Advertising, and Operations — to craft compelling stories for both external and internal audiences. You’ll also manage reputational issues with sound judgment and need to be comfortable exercising that judgment quickly, often under tight deadlines and in complex situations.
Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this position is $71,500 to $119,400 CAD annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon’s total compensation package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). On the benefits side, employees receive comprehensive coverage including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, and basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), and paid time off, along with additional resources to support health and well-being.
