About the Role: Collision Estimator

As a Collision Estimator, your primary responsibility is building accurate, detailed repair estimates and repair plans that follow Tesla-specific procedures. You’ll work at the centre of the repair workflow — directing technicians, managing insurance claims, and ensuring every vehicle is assessed and repaired to the highest standard. This is technical estimating driven by precision, not commission.

You’ll also play a key coordination role, directing disassembly technicians to uncover all damages upfront, guiding collision technicians on repair versus replace decisions, and managing the full billing cycle from claim submission through to vehicle delivery. • Communicate with insurance companies to submit claims and manage billing throughout the repair process
• Guide collision technicians on repair attempts when Repair vs. Replace decisions are not immediately clear
• Update customers on their vehicle’s repair progress throughout the process
• Manage closing billing and coordinate the delivery of vehicles upon completion

Requirements / Skills

Tesla is looking for a seasoned estimator who brings deep knowledge of automotive collision repair and insurance processes, paired with the communication skills to work effectively with technicians, insurers, and customers alike. • 5+ years of experience in automotive collision damage estimating
• Knowledge of insurance procedures and requirements for claims and billing
• Proficiency with Audatex or Mitchell Estimating Software and general computer skills
• Automotive knowledge and background with willingness to cross-train in management roles
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong customer service abilities
• I-CAR certification preferred
• Valid Class 5, G, or G2 driver’s licence for Canada required
