About the Role: Loss Prevention Clerk

As a Loss Prevention Clerk, you’ll spend your shift actively monitoring the warehouse floor and its perimeter — up to eight hours a day on foot — watching for safety hazards, shoplifting activity, and internal dishonesty. When a situation calls for it, you’ll be responsible for detaining and interviewing suspects, preparing detailed reports, and cooperating fully with local law enforcement. You report directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Beyond active surveillance, this role involves building awareness throughout the team. You’ll coach fellow warehouse staff on loss prevention policies and procedures, and stay connected with other area Costco LP Clerks and local businesses to share intelligence on current theft trends. Responsibilities

• Report internal dishonesty to the Warehouse Manager and Regional Loss Prevention Manager for approval before investigating
• Identify and communicate shrink reduction opportunities to management to help minimize inventory losses
• Prepare reports for internal use and for potential prosecution, and maintain evidence and investigation files
• Testify in court regarding theft investigations when required
• Coach and educate warehouse team members on loss prevention topics, policies, and procedures
• Collaborate with other area Costco LP Clerks and local businesses to share intelligence on current theft threats
• Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed

Requirements / Skills

Costco is looking for a candidate who brings a practical, professional approach to loss prevention. Strong communication and observational skills are essential, and candidates who already have hands-on LP experience will be given preference. You should be comfortable navigating legal frameworks and working with law enforcement when required.

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred for this position
• Valid Loss Prevention Licence as required by the Province of Saskatchewan
• Loss Prevention experience is strongly preferred and will give candidates an advantage
• Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada as it relates to theft and fraud offences, along with familiarity with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Trespass Act, and Privacy Acts
• Strong communication and observation skills, with solid problem-solving ability
