About the Role: Canada Specialist Sales Leader

As the Canada Specialist Sales Leader, you’ll lead a team of Sales professionals, Business Development experts, and Solution Architects, driving the adoption of AWS cloud services across large enterprises and high-growth organisations. You’ll develop and implement the national prioritization plan for specialist resource investments, aligning customer adoption strategies with current and future AWS offerings. A core part of this role involves C-level engagement, leading conversations around Application Modernization, Business Transformation, and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning adoption.

Beyond revenue generation, this leader plays an essential role in capturing the voice of the customer and channelling that feedback to the Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) to directly influence AWS technology roadmaps and Go-To-Market strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Solution Architecture, Marketing, Partners, and Training to execute customer acquisition programs at scale.

Benefits and Salary

The base salary for this position ranges from $200,000 to $270,000 CAD annually for the Toronto location. As part of Amazon’s total compensation approach, the package may also include sign-on payments, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and sales incentives where applicable. Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, basic life and AD&D), a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being. Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Responsibilities

This role demands a leader who can operate at the highest levels of enterprise engagement while simultaneously managing a high-performing, cross-functional sales team. Day to day, you’ll be shaping national go-to-market strategies, building executive-level relationships, and driving measurable revenue growth across Canada’s most significant enterprise accounts.

  • Engage at the CxO/VP level as well as with developers and technical architects to develop pipeline, secure lighthouse customers, and drive top-line revenue
  • Develop and deploy sales motions and programs that leverage AWS Field Sales teams, technology partners, and consulting partner channels — including workshops, enablement sessions, solutions blueprints, and Proofs of Concept (POC)
  • Define and execute a comprehensive account and territory plan across multiple account teams to achieve revenue and win goals
  • Create compelling value propositions tailored to the specific needs of enterprise customers across industries
  • Accelerate customer adoption through well-structured sales engagements and an effective GTM strategy
  • Drive revenue and market share while meeting or exceeding targets across Data and Developer Tools, Advanced Compute, Core Services, Migration/Modernization, and Business Applications
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across Solution Architecture, Business Development, Marketing, Partners, and Training to execute customer acquisition strategies
  • Define and drive operational excellence and processes within the sales organisation
  • Relay customer feedback to the Worldwide Specialist Organization to influence AWS technology roadmaps and Go-To-Market strategy

Requirements / Skills

AWS is looking for a results-driven leader with a proven track record in enterprise technology sales and a deep understanding of cloud and AI solutions. The ideal candidate brings both executive presence and the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team across diverse disciplines.

  • 15+ years of experience in technology-related sales, business development, or equivalent roles
  • Experience negotiating complex deals with large enterprise customers and partners
  • Experience selling AI/ML solutions with the ability to communicate their value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Established track record of building relationships with C-suite executives (CEO, COO, CIO, CTO, CMO) and closing large revenue accounts
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and motivate a sales organisation to consistently exceed defined goals
  • Experience in matrixed sales environments including cross-functional, solutions-led go-to-market initiatives (preferred)
  • Deep understanding of cloud technologies including public and hybrid cloud platforms; technical background in engineering or computer science is an asset
  • Industry expertise with proven public speaking and media engagement skills (preferred)
