About the Role: Assistant Store Manager
As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll support the Store Manager in all aspects of running a Dollarama store. That means enforcing company policies, guiding staff, and making sure daily operations meet the standards that customers expect. You’ll be involved in recruitment and training of new employees, helping to build a capable and motivated team.
Inventory management is a core part of this role. You’ll ensure that inventory counts are completed accurately and on time to support proper restocking, and that merchandising practices are consistently followed throughout the store. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be at the centre of day-to-day store operations, making decisions that directly impact both the team and the customer experience. From managing staff to enforcing policies and tracking inventory, your work keeps the store functioning at its best.
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily retail store operations
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Store Manager
- Ensure company rules and regulations are clearly communicated, understood, and followed by all team members
- Oversee inventory counts to ensure they are completed accurately and in a timely manner to support proper resupply
- Maintain merchandising standards by ensuring established practices are consistently followed throughout the store
- Participate in recruitment and onboarding activities for new employees
- Train and develop team members to meet performance expectations
- Organize time and manage priorities efficiently across competing operational demands
Requirements / Skills

- Minimum 2 years of retail industry experience — a solid foundation in how retail operations work is essential

- Comfortable with physical demands — including working with ladders, up-and-down movements, and heavy lifting
