About the Role: Assistant Store Manager
As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll work closely alongside the Store Manager to ensure the store runs efficiently day to day. You’ll be responsible for making sure that all company policies and procedures are clearly communicated to and followed by the entire team. Inventory management is a core part of the job — you’ll oversee accurate, timely inventory counts to ensure shelves are properly stocked and resupply orders are placed promptly.
You’ll also play an active role in recruiting and training new employees, upholding established merchandising practices, and acting as the go-to leader on the floor when the Store Manager is away. Strong organizational skills and sound judgment are essential in this role, as you’ll often be managing competing priorities in a dynamic retail setting.

Responsibilities
The Assistant Store Manager at Dollarama takes on a wide range of operational and people-management duties. From keeping inventory accurate to mentoring team members, these responsibilities are central to how the store performs and how customers experience their visit.
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing all daily retail store operations
- Act as Manager on Duty (MOD) in the absence of the Store Manager
- Communicate and enforce company rules and regulations so all team members understand and follow them
- Oversee inventory counts in a prompt and accurate manner to ensure proper resupply of goods
- Uphold merchandising standards by ensuring established practices are consistently followed throughout the store
- Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new employees
- Train and coach team members to meet performance and service expectations
- Organize priorities and manage time efficiently across a fast-paced work environment
Requirements / Skills

- Minimum 2 years of retail industry experience is required for this role

- Availability to work 40–50 hours per week, including days, evenings, and weekends
