About the Role: Asset Protection Associate
As an Asset Protection Associate, your core focus is on preventing financial and physical loss while upholding a professional store environment. You’ll conduct regular patrols, monitor security equipment, investigate shrink incidents, and escalate internal matters to the Market Loss Prevention Manager as required. External apprehensions are part of the role and must be carried out in compliance with Company policies and legal standards.
Teamwork and communication are central to success in this position. You’ll work closely with Store Leadership and various stakeholders, gathering and presenting information clearly. You’ll also participate in emergency procedures when needed and take on additional store responsibilities as business needs evolve. Flexibility across shifts — including evenings, weekends, and holidays — is essential to keeping store operations running smoothly.
Benefits and Salary
The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $19.35 per hour. Responsibilities
The Asset Protection Associate role covers a broad range of duties aimed at protecting people, merchandise, and the overall shopping experience. From daily security patrols to supporting investigations and emergency response, each responsibility contributes directly to store safety and loss prevention.
- Conduct daily patrols of the store to maintain a safe and secure environment, verifying that doors, showcases, and security features are functioning properly
- Investigate incidents of financial and physical shrink and communicate findings to Store Leadership, escalating internal matters to the Market Loss Prevention Manager as required
- Support investigations related to internal theft, external theft, organized retail crime, and cases assigned through Walmart Canada Global Ethics
- Carry out external apprehensions when required, in compliance with Company policies and applicable legal standards
- Support emergency procedures including store evacuations and other incident responses such as fire emergencies
- Gather and communicate information from multiple sources, presenting clear findings to leadership and stakeholders
- Participate in store task team responsibilities as required to support overall store operations
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support evolving business needs and Asset Protection priorities
