About the Role: Area Manager Intern

In the Area Manager Intern position, you’ll be a pivotal part of Amazon’s fulfillment network, overseeing a team of 50-100 hourly associates. This role is more than just an internship—it’s a hands-on leadership experience designed to equip you with the skills needed to thrive in operational management.

You’ll collaborate closely with site leaders to implement and execute a summer project focused on efficiency and continuous improvement. Along the way, you’ll gain valuable insights into leadership, logistics, and process optimization—all while making a meaningful impact on Amazon’s operations.

Responsibilities of an Area Manager Intern

• Lead and motivate a team: Coach and develop 50-100 associates, driving engagement and productivity.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee daily workflows, including package handling, truck deliveries, and equipment operation.
• Continuous Improvement: Execute a summer project aimed at streamlining operations and enhancing safety standards.
• Physical Activity: Be prepared for a hands-on role, including standing, walking, and managing physical tasks in a bustling warehouse.
• Flexible Shifts: Work shifts that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, following a fixed schedule of four workdays and three days off.
