About the Role: Analyst, Workday Operations

Reporting to the Manager, HR Operations & Reporting, the Analyst, Workday Operations is responsible for the day-to-day management of HCM core transactions and employee lifecycle data in Workday. You’ll handle everything from correcting stale transactions and managing unassigned tasks to processing mass/centralized changes involving reorganizations, cost centre adjustments, store realignments, and location changes. You’ll also be the person creating and terminating records for Board of Directors members, contingent workers, and PRO employees who require Workday access.

Data quality is central to this role. You’ll run regular standardized audits, collaborate with the HR Reporting team to build audit reports, and interface with external systems including BMO, CRA Interfaces, Dayforce, and SailPoint. Beyond reactive fixes, you’ll proactively develop alerts and notifications within the HCM Core space to get ahead of data issues before they become problems. You’ll also manage Workday cases and support technology stakeholders by processing test data in the Workday test environment.

Responsibilities

This role covers a broad range of Workday HCM operations — from daily transaction management to large-scale data changes and ongoing system audits.   • Execute mass/centralized changes using EIB, covering intake, impact assessment, testing (inclusions/exclusions), and implementation for events like reorganizations, cost centre changes, and store realignments
  • Develop proactive alerts and notifications within HCM Core to shift from reactive audits to early detection of data issues
  • Conduct regular data integrity audits, identify trends, collaborate with HR Reporting to build audit reports, and ensure timelines are met to avoid downstream impacts
