About the Role: Analyst, Insights

In this role, you’ll develop, maintain, and automate reporting dashboards and data models while generating regular insights to support business performance tracking. You’ll work extensively with SQL, Power BI, and Excel to analyse large datasets, identify trends, and surface opportunities. A key part of the job involves designing KPI frameworks and data visualisations that make complex information accessible to stakeholders across the business.

You’ll also serve as a bridge between business and technical teams — partnering with cross-functional groups to understand reporting requirements, identify data gaps, and streamline workflows. Data governance, accuracy, and process improvement are priorities in this position, meaning you’ll help eliminate manual processes and enhance reporting pipelines to boost overall efficiency.

Benefits and Salary

Canadian Tire offers a broadband salary range of $53,000 to $88,000, with a typical hiring range between $53,000 and $70,000. Final compensation depends on your experience, internal equity, and market conditions. Responsibilities

The Analyst, Insights role covers a broad range of data and reporting functions, from building automated pipelines to presenting findings to leadership. Each responsibility contributes to stronger business intelligence and more informed decision-making across the organization.

• Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and data models to support ongoing business performance tracking
• Automate reporting workflows and pipelines to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
• Analyse large datasets using SQL, Power BI, or Excel to identify trends, anomalies, and business opportunities
• Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations for stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business, technology, and data teams to gather requirements and align on solutions
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies across systems to ensure accuracy and integrity
• Design dashboards and visualisations that effectively communicate insights to a non-technical audience
• Develop KPIs and performance frameworks to support organizational decision-making
• Support data governance improvements and reporting framework enhancements

Requirements / Skills

Canadian Tire is looking for a detail-oriented analyst with solid technical foundations and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate is a quick learner who can balance technical problem-solving with clear business storytelling and work effectively with both data teams and business stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or Computer Science (preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in an analytical role, ideally within a retail environment
• Strong SQL skills for complex data analysis and querying
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access; Power BI experience is an asset
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and marketing data and develop actionable insights
• Process improvement and automation experience is an asset
• Experience with Knime is an asset
• Experience managing end-to-end flyer and loyalty programs is an asset
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences
