About the Role: Advisor, Internal Communications

As the Employee Communications Advisor, you’ll take the lead on developing and executing communications strategies that connect employees to the company’s True North priorities and broader business initiatives. You’ll serve as communications lead on cross-functional projects, driving both the strategy and the execution of campaigns designed to build a culture of high performance and belonging. Content creation for CTC’s intranet, The Angle, will be a key part of your portfolio, alongside writing and presentation support for senior leaders across multiple channels.

You’ll also play an informal mentorship role, providing coaching and delegation support to Employee Communications Specialists on the team. Staying current on best practices in communications and retail, and championing the use of digital tools like Microsoft 365 and Copilot, will help you continuously elevate team impact and productivity.

The typical hiring range for this role is $23.00 to $37.00 CAD per hour, with final compensation depending on experience, skills, and other factors. Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in corporate communications or public relations, with a proven ability to translate complex business messages into compelling, accessible content. You’re someone who builds genuine relationships with executives, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings a growth mindset to everything you do.

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in communications or public relations, with strong storytelling and content creation skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with familiarity in internal channels like SharePoint and Viva Engage
  • Ability to adopt the voice of senior leaders and the CTC corporate brand tone, simplifying complex ideas into clear messages for employees
  • Proven experience partnering with executives and developing integrated communications plans
  • Strong visual communication skills with experience using PowerPoint and Canva preferred
  • Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
  • Flexibility to work varied hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required
  • Experience working with corporate creative teams, content teams, and event management (particularly marquee events) is an asset
