About the Role: Accounting Office
As an Accounting Office associate at Walmart Timmins, you’ll be responsible for the accurate handling and record keeping of all store funds. Responsibilities
Working in the Walmart cash office means you’re trusted with the store’s financial integrity every shift. From opening counts to end-of-day reconciliation, each task you complete plays a direct role in keeping the store operating accurately and securely.
- Confirm currency amounts in the Accounting Office upon opening, after final deposit, and prior to closing daily
- Calibrate the teller mate machine weekly or as needed to ensure accurate cash counting
- Manage all store funds across cash registers, ATMs, self-checkouts, and vending machines
- Process register bags and prepare deposits for armoured car pickup
- Reconcile end-of-day business transactions to maintain accurate financial records
- Identify and organize financial reports and logs, distributing relevant information to appropriate team members
- Research and challenge chargebacks and reconcile journal accounts as required
- Communicate shortages to the DLPM and store management per company guidelines
- Monitor the cash office area for signs of shrink and potential security risks, informing management and Loss Prevention as needed
- Maintain a secure cash office by ensuring the safe is locked when unattended and day lock is engaged while in use
