As a Self Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada, your primary focus is delivering exceptional customer service in the self-service checkout area. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be actively engaged with customers throughout every shift, offering hands-on support in the self-checkout area. From educating shoppers on how to use self-service options to handling interventions with professionalism, your work directly impacts the quality of the in-store experience.
- Maintain the self-checkout area to keep it neat, clean, organized, and free of debris, fixtures, and liquids
- Educate customers on the correct and efficient use of self-service checkout options
- Promote company-sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives
- Monitor customer activity to determine when assistance is needed and respond proactively
- Conduct quality checks and self-service interventions with a polite and reassuring approach, explaining that these are standard protocol
- Respond to EAS alarms and accurately complete the “Failure to Deactivate” log
- Notify the Customer Service Manager when the self-service area is low on cash or experiencing technical issues
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their designated home location after each use
