Seasonal Associate – Walmart – Welland, ON

This is a temporary position that covers a range of seasonal departments throughout the year — from the Garden Centre in spring and early summer, to Bikes in the warmer months, and Toys during the holiday season. About the Role: Seasonal Associate

As a Seasonal Associate at Walmart Welland, your primary focus is delivering exceptional customer service while supporting sales floor operations. You’ll greet customers, assist them in finding products, and help resolve any concerns that come up — referring more complex issues to management when needed. Keeping the floor organized, merchandise priced correctly, and displays looking sharp are all part of the job.

Depending on the season, you may be working in the outdoor Garden Centre — zoning, watering, and culling plants — handling bikes with some limited physical activity, or working with the Toys department during the busy Christmas period. The Outdoor Soil Compound area involves medium to heavy lifting, sometimes requiring team lifts. You’ll also handle receiving and stocking merchandise, operate equipment properly, and manage required documentation. Limited cash handling may also be part of the role.

Benefits and Salary

This position starts at a minimum rate of $17.75 per hour. Responsibilities

Working as a Seasonal Associate means you’re juggling a variety of tasks across different departments depending on the time of year. From customer-facing service to behind-the-scenes stocking and receiving, each shift contributes to keeping the store running smoothly and customers coming back.

• Greet all customers in a polite and friendly manner to create a welcoming shopping experience
• Assist customers by promoting products and services, helping locate merchandise, and supporting purchase decisions
• Resolve customer concerns on the floor and refer more complex issues to the appropriate manager
• Maintain salesfloor presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise, removing damaged or out-of-date goods, and setting up product displays
• Handle claims and returns properly, secure merchandise, identify high-shrink items, and uphold a safe work environment per company policies
• Receive and stock merchandise, operate equipment appropriately, and complete required paperwork and documentation
• Support seasonal departments including the Garden Centre (zoning, watering, culling plants), Bikes (limited physical activity), and Toys at Christmas
• Perform medium to heavy lifting in the Outdoor Soil Compound area, with team lifts as needed
