Responsibilities

• Deliver mail and parcels safely and on time to customers along assigned routes
• Sort and collect mail items in an organized and efficient manner
• Project a courteous and professional manner during all face-to-face customer interactions
• Maintain working knowledge of local roads, customers, and delivery receptacles
• Process Canada Post products and services including Change of Address Notifications, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bills
• Wear Canada Post identification visibly at all times while delivering and collecting mail
• Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb / 22.7 kg
• Ensure all mail is safely secured in your possession throughout the delivery route

Requirements / Skills

• Valid provincial driver’s licence (Class 5 or G) — permanent licence required
• Satisfactory safe driving record — a current driver’s abstract dated within the last 30 days will be required
• Access to an eligible vehicle with a minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1,415 litres), automatic transmission, power windows, and a metal rooftop with accessory power outlet
• Automobile liability insurance for vehicle use during employment, with notification to your insurer
• Experience making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in various weather and traffic conditions
• French language proficiency — French is essential for this position
• Ability to pass a pre-employment test and interview
