Job Summary & Tips for Applying

AI-generated summary and tips to help you highlight your strengths effectively.

Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Restaurant Assistant Manager position at Tim Hortons in Victoria is a permanent, full-time role at $24.04/hour covering staff management, daily operations and customer service. A resume applying for this role should put staff supervision and scheduling experience front and centre, since recruiting, monitoring performance and setting schedules are core duties, along with any experience maintaining inventory and ensuring regulatory compliance in a food service setting.

Resume & Application Tips: Use the posting’s own language where it fits: phrases like plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations and conduct performance reviews reflect exactly what the role requires and are worth repeating in your work history. If you’ve managed a team in a food service or retail environment, list headcount and the types of scheduling you handled. A concrete example works well here: for instance, “Managed scheduling for a team of 12, reducing shift gaps by 20%” shows the kind of operational thinking this role calls for.

Interview Preparation: Prepare a real example of a time you handled a customer complaint or concern and one where you had to address a staff performance issue, since both are listed duties. Be ready to describe your experience with health and safety regulations in a food service context, as compliance is explicitly part of the role. The posting does not state the specific shifts or hours distribution within the 35-hour week, so it is worth asking about the typical weekly schedule and whether weekend availability is expected.
