About the Role: P/T Preloader

As a Preloader at UPS, your main focus is on keeping packages moving efficiently and safely. You’ll be responsible for loading package cars, unloading trailers, and handling the scanning and sorting of packages — all with speed and precision. This role demands physical stamina, solid organizational skills, and a willingness to follow UPS package handling and safe work methods.

Working Monday to Friday from 4AM to 9AM, this position is well-suited for those who prefer getting their workday done early. The shift runs between 3 to 6 hours per day, up to 5 days per week, making it ideal as a primary or supplementary source of income. Teamwork is at the core of this role — communication and a positive attitude go a long way on the floor.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day work as a UPS Preloader is centred around keeping packages flowing smoothly through the facility. You’ll be expected to work at a steady pace, follow established procedures, and handle every package with care and accuracy.

• Load and unload UPS packages into trailers or package cars efficiently and safely
• Scan and sort packages according to delivery routes and handling instructions
• Learn and apply UPS package handling methods and safe work practices
• Read and retain addresses and handling instruction numbers accurately
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors to support daily operations

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this Preloader position is physically capable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an early-morning warehouse setting. UPS values team players who show up consistently and bring a positive, can-do attitude to every shift. Prior warehouse experience is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker.

• Physical capability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) repeatedly throughout the shift
• Availability Monday to Friday, 4AM to 9AM, for shifts of 3–6 hours, up to 5 days per week
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to read and remember addresses and handling instruction numbers
• Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Warehouse experience is not necessary but is considered an asset
