Principal Technical Program Manager, AFT Quality – Amazon – Toronto, ON
Location: Toronto, ON | Company: Amazon
At the intersection of machine learning, computer vision, and large-scale fulfilment operations, Amazon’s AFT Quality team is tackling some of the most complex technical challenges in the business world. Based in Toronto, Ontario, this Principal Technical Program Manager role sits at the heart of a global effort to keep Amazon’s fulfilment network running with precision — ensuring that the virtual and physical state of inventory remains aligned across hundreds of warehouses worldwide.
This isn’t your typical TPM position. You’ll be driving org-wide strategy and roadmap definition for ambiguous, high-impact problems, collaborating with scientists and engineers on state-of-the-art AI applications, and leading cross-functional initiatives that directly affect customer satisfaction and operational costs at a scale few organizations ever reach.
About the Role: Principal Technical Program Manager, AFT Quality
The AFT Quality organization builds automated, algorithmic solutions that prevent, detect, and correct inventory issues across Amazon’s global fulfilment network. As a Principal TPM, you’ll define the strategy and roadmap for solving the most complex operational problems that emerge in fulfilment at scale — from products disappearing and reappearing in unexpected locations to reconciling billions of transactions driven by both human and robotic input every year. You’ll partner with product owners, scientists, and senior leadership to shape requirements for new product offerings and own end-to-end delivery of large-scale programs that advance long-term organizational goals.
This role demands someone who can engage confidently with executives and principal engineers alike, challenge technical proposals, mentor TPMs and engineers, and dive deep into data or code when needed. You’ll be expected to invent the mechanisms and metrics that transform ambiguous, complex initiatives into measurable outcomes — while communicating progress and strategy clearly to senior stakeholders across the organization.
Benefits and Salary
The base salary range for this position is $157,600 to $263,200 CAD annually. As a total compensation company, Amazon’s overall package may also include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, basic life and AD&D insurance, a Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP), a Deferred Profit Sharing Plan (DPSP), maternity and parental leave options, paid time off, and additional resources to support health and well-being.
