About the Role: General Merchandise Associate
As a General Merchandise Associate, your core focus is keeping the sales floor customer-ready at all times. That means stocking merchandise, completing downstocking, setting modulars, and making sure displays are clean and secure. You’ll also be a key point of contact for customers — answering questions, helping with product selection, and resolving concerns professionally.
You’ll work closely with your fellow associates to maintain floor coverage, support the Front End when needed, and uphold Walmart’s safety and compliance standards. A flexible attitude toward scheduling — including evenings, weekends, and holidays — is an important part of making this role work well for both you and the store.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $16.90 per hour. Responsibilities
Working as a General Merchandise Associate at Walmart means wearing a few different hats throughout each shift. From customer service to stocking and merchandising, you’ll be contributing directly to a smooth and welcoming shopping experience for customers in the Yarmouth community.
- Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, assisting with product selection, promoting services, helping locate merchandise, and resolving concerns in a friendly and professional manner

- Stock merchandise and complete downstocking as required, apply product protection where needed, and execute modular sets including flex modulars and new shelf caps
- Process recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk and other areas of the store, returning items to their proper modular locations
- Uphold safety and compliance standards by following company policies, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are properly secured
- Work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
- Perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, bending, and lifting inventory weighing up to 20 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
