Part-Time Meat Associate – Walmart – Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
Location: Nova Scotia | Company: Walmart
Walmart’s Yarmouth Supercenter is looking for a Part-Time Meat Associate to join their in-store team. Located at 108 Starrs Rd in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, this is a hands-on retail role where you’ll be a key part of keeping the meat and deli department running smoothly — from food preparation and stocking to customer service and food safety compliance.
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in a clean and well-organized workspace, and like interacting with customers daily, this position offers a solid entry point into retail with real career growth potential.
About the Role: Part-Time Meat Associate
As a Meat Associate, your day-to-day work centres on keeping the department stocked, safe, and customer-ready. You’ll handle everything from rotating stock and checking expiration dates to preparing deli items like sliced meats, cheeses, and fried chicken. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that pricing and signage are accurate throughout the department at all times.
This role involves working with equipment such as slicers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers, so attention to safety and proper food handling is essential. You’ll follow food safety and cold chain protocols — including temperature checks and thermometer calibration — and uphold all Health and Safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a hygienic work environment. Being a reliable team player who can adapt to varying shift schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is a key part of success here.
Benefits and Salary
The minimum starting rate of pay for this position is $17.20 per hour. Walmart Canada also offers a range of benefits including a store discount, Deferred Profit Sharing, access to the Live Better U education program, and EQ Health support.
