As the Vision Centre Manager, you’ll be accountable for everything that happens inside Division 30 — the optical department. You’ll oversee merchandise, staffing, operations, and compliance, ensuring the centre runs smoothly within Walmart policy, provincial and federal regulations, and professional optical standards. Your dual licensing means you’re qualified to evaluate and fill prescriptions, which makes you a trusted resource for both your team and your customers.
You’ll also play a key role in growing the optical business by executing Walmart-branded programs and building collaborative relationships with healthcare providers both inside and outside the store. Responsibilities
The Vision Centre Manager wears many hats — part clinician, part business manager, part team leader. Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for keeping operations running seamlessly while ensuring every customer interaction reflects the quality and professionalism Walmart expects from its optical centres.
- Report to the District Manager for professional services and be accountable for delivering on the sales budget while controlling wages in line with P&L targets
- Grow the optical business by executing company programs and actively promoting the Walmart brand within the community
- Build collaborative relationships with in-store optometrists and other community healthcare providers
- Troubleshoot and problem solve customer and operational issues to ensure an excellent in-store experience
- Accept and evaluate written prescription orders from customers and physicians
- Maintain safe working conditions, including proper equipment upkeep and adherence to emergency response policies
- Uphold provincial and federal guidelines when dispensing both prescription and non-prescription eyewear
- Delegate tasks to associates within the appropriate regulatory framework to effectively manage workload and keep the centre fully operational during business hours
