Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Package Handler position at UPS in Lachine is a part-time physical role on an early morning shift (Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 AM to 9:30 AM), starting at $18.50/h with a clear wage progression. A resume for this posting should put ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and any prior experience with loading, unloading, or sorting packages near the top, since those are the core daily tasks.
Resume & Application Tips: If you’ve worked in a warehouse, distribution centre, or any role involving physical handling of goods, name the specific tasks directly: loading trailers, sorting by postal code, operating machinery. The posting requires availability Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 AM to 9:30 AM, so state that availability clearly on your resume or in a cover note. A measurable example helps here, for instance: “Loaded an average of 400 packages per shift with no damage claims” shows both pace and accuracy in the kind of format that works well.
Interview Preparation: Be ready to speak to how you’ve handled physical, repetitive work and maintained accuracy under time pressure, since the posting describes a fast-paced environment with scanning, sorting, and stocking as core duties. Confirm your Tuesday-to-Saturday availability up front.
