About the Role: Package Handler

This is a physical, hands-on warehouse position that involves loading and unloading packages from delivery vehicles and trailers, sorting shipments by postal code, and making sure everything gets to where it needs to go. The work moves quickly, so the ability to stay focused and keep pace in a fast-paced environment is key.

As part of a unionized team, you’ll be trained on proper package handling methods to ensure both safety and efficiency. No previous warehouse experience is required — UPS provides paid training to get you up to speed from day one.

Benefits and Salary

This role starts at $18.00 per hour, with automatic pay progression under the Union Collective Agreement — reaching up to $30.11/hr after 48 months. Benefits include tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester, paid training, weekly pay via direct deposit every Friday, personal paid days off, and paid vacation starting at 2 weeks after your first year. Responsibilities

As a Package Handler at UPS, your day-to-day work centres on keeping the warehouse operation running smoothly during the evening shift. Every task you perform directly supports the timely delivery of packages across the network, making accuracy and physical effort both equally important.

• Load and unload packages into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers
• Sort and stock packages accurately based on postal codes
• Learn and execute company-established package handling methods to maintain safety and efficiency
• Work consistently Monday through Friday across all five scheduled days
• Adapt to varying start and finish times based on operational needs

Requirements / Skills

UPS is looking for dependable, physically capable individuals who can commit to a regular schedule and handle the demands of a labour-intensive warehouse environment. No prior experience is needed — what matters most is reliability, physical fitness, and a willingness to learn.

• Physical fitness — ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32 kg) unassisted; typical package weight ranges from 25–35 lbs.
• Full availability Monday through Friday (all five days per week required)
• Ability to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
• Reading and memorizing postal codes for accurate package sorting
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment
• Comfort working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
• No prior warehouse experience required — paid training is provided
