About the Role: Overnight Associate

As an Overnight Associate, your primary focus is on the flow of merchandise from receiving through to the sales floor. You’ll be unloading trailers, moving pallets, processing freight, and making sure products are properly labelled and placed — all before the store opens for the day. Unlike day or evening fulfillment roles, this position places a stronger emphasis on backroom labelling and stocking, making accuracy and efficiency key parts of the job.

Safety is a core part of the role. You’ll be expected to maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment by following Walmart’s company policies and procedures, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring that all displays and fixtures remain secure throughout the shift.

Benefits and Salary

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $16.15 per hour. Responsibilities

The Overnight Associate role is all about keeping the store’s merchandise operations moving efficiently while the doors are closed to the public. Every task you complete — from unloading freight to labelling shelves — contributes directly to a smooth store opening and a better experience for customers the next morning.

• Prepare the sales floor for store opening each shift
• Set and merchandise product features, including signage
• Unload trailers and complete live unloading of various merchandise types
• Pull pallets of merchandise to and from the sales floor for overnight processing
• Label and place merchandise in backroom bins with a strong emphasis on accuracy — a key differentiator of this overnight role versus day/evening shifts
• Stock the sales floor as assigned and provide customer service when necessary
• Label the sales floor in preparation for store opening
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment through adherence to company policy and procedures, including completing safety sweep logs and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure
