Optician, Single Licensed (PT) – Walmart – Winnipeg, MB

Walmart Canada is looking for a part-time Licensed Optician to join the Vision Centre team at their Winnipeg location on Taylor Avenue. If you hold a single optician licence and want to bring your optical expertise to one of Canada’s largest retailers, this could be a solid fit.

About the Role: Optician, Single Licensed (PT)

Reporting to the Vision Centre Manager, you’ll help drive the optical business by executing programs that promote the Walmart brand and maximize both sales and profitability. Your deep knowledge of eyewear dispensing and your ability to navigate the regulatory landscape in Manitoba will be essential to your success in this position.

You’ll also be expected to troubleshoot customer concerns and provide solutions that keep the experience smooth and professional. Working within a retail healthcare setting means balancing compliance with regulatory requirements while staying aligned with Walmart’s core values and customer service standards.

Benefits and Salary

Responsibilities

As a Licensed Optician at Walmart’s Vision Centre, your day-to-day work spans both the clinical and business sides of optical retail. From advising customers on eyewear selection to maintaining professional relationships with healthcare providers, every part of this role contributes to a positive patient and customer experience.

• Order and dispense quality eyewear with accuracy and professionalism
• Develop the optical business by executing promotional programs and supporting the Walmart Vision Centre brand
• Build collaborative relationships with optometrists and other healthcare providers both in-store and within the wider community
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues to ensure an excellent experience at every visit
• Stay current with the regulatory environment in Manitoba and ensure all practice remains fully compliant
• Uphold Walmart’s 3 Basic Beliefs and core values in all customer and colleague interactions

• Optician Licence (glasses only) — this is a mandatory requirement for the role
