Location: Winnipeg, MB | Company: Walmart
Walmart Canada is hiring a Meat Associate at its Winnipeg location on Regent Avenue West. This is a hands-on role in the meat and deli department, suited for someone who takes pride in delivering great service while keeping product standards and food safety top of mind. If you’re looking to build a career in retail with a well-known Canadian employer, this could be the right fit.
Day to day, you’ll be working in the meat and deli section, keeping shelves stocked and properly zoned, slicing and preparing products, and making sure everything from temperature compliance to product rotation is handled correctly. About the Role: Meat Associate
As a Meat Associate at Walmart Canada, your responsibilities span both the front-facing and operational sides of the department. You’ll zone the meat area, rotate stock, check expiry dates, and make sure all merchandise is correctly signed and priced. You’ll also be preparing deli orders — slicing meat and cheese, using rotisserie ovens and deep fryers for chicken, and filling prepared salads and side dishes for display and specialty orders.
Compliance is a key part of this role. You’ll be expected to follow cold chain standards, thermometer calibration procedures, temperature recording, and all food handling protocols. Adhering to Walmart’s Health and Safety guidelines and internal policies around ordering, clearance, markups, markdowns, signing, and pricing is essential to performing well in this position.
