Material Handler – DHL Supply Chain – Calgary, AB
Location: Calgary, AB | Company: DHL
DHL Supply Chain is looking for a Material Handler to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This is a specialized warehouse role with a unique requirement: candidates must hold an active, non-expired Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) — both Restricted and Unrestricted. If you have warehouse experience, forklift skills, and a valid PAL, this is a role worth looking into.
Working within a dedicated Firearms/SpaceX room, you’ll be responsible for the full cycle of receiving, stocking, picking, and shipping regulated inventory. The role demands precision, compliance awareness, and a commitment to safety — qualities that DHL takes seriously across all of its global operations.
About the Role: Material Handler
As a Material Handler at DHL Supply Chain in Calgary, your day-to-day will revolve around the accurate and compliant handling of firearms and related inventory. You’ll perform 100% verification and chamber checks on all incoming stock, manage bin locations, fill customer orders, process returns, and prepare shipments for both retail and direct channel customers. This is hands-on, detail-oriented work in a regulated environment.
Beyond the firearms-specific duties, you’ll also handle general warehouse functions using powered equipment such as forklifts — loading product, conducting daily equipment inspections, and assisting with physical inventories. Housekeeping standards, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance are central to this role, and ongoing training on company policies is part of the expectation.
Benefits and Salary
This position offers a pay rate of $22.50 per hour, plus a $1.00 shift premium where applicable. Additional incentives include overtime pay, holiday pay, and other applicable earnings. Full-time associates receive a strong benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, standard Long-Term Disability, basic life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and short-term disability. Optional benefits include retirement savings plans (DCPP, RRSP, TFSA), optional life and critical illness coverage, Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, and an education reimbursement program. DHL has been certified as a Great Place to Work® and Top Employer in Canada for the third consecutive year.
