Job Summary & Tips for Applying

AI-generated summary and tips to help you highlight your strengths effectively.

Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Solutions Architect role at Canadian Tire in Toronto covers end-to-end architecture design across retail domains, cloud platforms, and AI/ML systems on a full-time basis. A candidate’s resume should lead with hands-on cloud experience (Azure and/or GCP) tied to real delivery work, and retail platform architecture across supply chain, store technology, or digital channels, since both are listed as required.

Resume & Application Tips: The posting uses specific terms worth mirroring: API-led and event-driven integration, architecture decision records (ADRs), and domain-aligned data models. If you’ve worked with OMS, WMS/TMS, PIM, or pricing engines, name each platform directly. For the AI/ML and GenAI areas listed as strongly preferred, a brief note on deployment patterns or responsible AI guardrails you’ve applied will stand out. A line such as “Designed a streaming lakehouse architecture that reduced inventory reporting latency by 40%” shows both the depth and the format that suits this kind of work.

Interview Preparation: Come ready with two or three concrete examples of architecture deliverables you’ve produced, particularly high-level designs or ADRs for retail or cloud initiatives. Since the role explicitly involves communicating trade-offs to non-technical audiences, have a short story prepared about a time you did that. The posting does not state the team structure or how the two architects divide domains, so asking about that in the interview would help you understand the day-to-day scope. You might also ask how architecture governance interacts with delivery timelines, since the posting flags “without slowing delivery” as a stated expectation.
