Job Summary & Tips for Applying
Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Casual Courier Driver position at DHL Express in Lachine combines parcel delivery and warehouse duties, paying $20.23/hour with no fixed schedule. A valid Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record is required, as is bilingualism in French and English — the two requirements worth placing at the top of a resume for this posting, since both are hard conditions of employment.
Resume & Application Tips: Lead your resume with your driver’s licence class, your driving record, and your language proficiency, since the posting flags all three as screening criteria. Under experience, describe any warehouse or customer service work in concrete terms: for example, “Sorted and processed an average of 150 inbound parcels per shift, meeting daily cutoff deadlines.” If you have used Excel or scanned freight with handheld devices, name the tools directly. Prepare to show written or spoken evidence of bilingualism at the interview stage.
Interview Preparation: Be ready to give a specific example of working under tight time constraints from your own work history, since on-time delivery within tight time constraints is listed as a demonstrated requirement. Prepare an example of handling a difficult customer interaction, whether in person or by phone. The posting does not state a start date, so asking when the role is expected to begin is reasonable. Because the schedule is casual with no set hours, it’s also worth confirming how shifts are typically communicated and what advance notice is usual.
