About the Role: Maintenance Technician III

Operating under minimal supervision, the Maintenance Technician III is responsible for maintaining and repairing conveyor systems and related industrial equipment. The role also involves using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software to log and retrieve maintenance data, and responding to sort calls to get systems back online quickly.

The schedule runs Sunday to Thursday, and the ability to work flexible shifts based on business needs is expected. Responsibilities

As a Maintenance Technician III at FedEx Dorval, your work directly supports the reliability of the facility’s material handling systems. From routine preventative maintenance to complex troubleshooting, your technical skills will be put to use across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines on a daily basis.

• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on material handling systems with minimal supervision, demonstrating proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical power transmission, electrical, and PLC/controls failures at both component and system level
• Interpret schematics — read, interpret, and create or modify electrical and mechanical drawings and engineering specifications to diagnose system faults
• Respond to sort calls promptly to diagnose problems and execute repairs to minimize operational downtime
• Utilize EAM software to enter and retrieve maintenance data as prescribed
• Perform welding and fabrication including MIG, stick, and TIG welding in all positions; repair broken components considering load and position factors
• Go online with PLC processors to aid troubleshooting; burn EEPROMs and understand PLC networks such as ControlNet and DeviceNet
• Support junior technicians and begin developing scopes of work and project plans for small-scale local projects
• Adhere to all safety standards, attend safety meetings and required training, and actively address safety concerns

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings four or more years of industrial maintenance experience with demonstrated hands-on skills across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems. • Minimum 4 years of industrial maintenance experience with proficiency in mechanical power transmission, electrical systems, and working knowledge of PLC/controls and welding/fabrication
• High School Diploma or GED required; certificates in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related electrical/mechanical trade are preferred
• Bilingual in French and English (mandatory for Quebec-based positions)
• Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics, manufacturer’s manuals, and engineering specifications
• Experience with conveyor belt systems in distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse environments is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with EAM software and Microsoft Office suite; comfort working with web-based applications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with peers, managers, operations teams, and external vendors
• Time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
