About the Role: Loss Prevention Clerk
Much of this position involves active floor presence: patrolling the warehouse and perimeter, detecting theft, and detaining and interviewing shoplifters when warranted. You’ll also observe and report potential internal dishonesty to the Warehouse Manager and Regional Loss Prevention Manager for approval before any investigation proceeds.
Beyond detection, you’ll prepare and maintain reports and evidence files from investigations, and testify in court concerning theft investigations when required. You’ll also teach and coach loss prevention topics, policies, and procedures to other members of the Warehouse Team, and communicate with other area Costco Loss Prevention Clerks and local businesses to share information about current theft threats.
A working knowledge of Costco procedures and applicable laws is part of the role. You’ll attend meetings and seminars on loss prevention and identify shrink reduction opportunities within operations to report to management. Assisting in other areas of the warehouse may also be required from time to time.

Requirements / Skills
Candidates with prior Loss Prevention experience will be given preference, particularly those with a strong understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada relating to theft and fraud, the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the Trespass Act, and Privacy Acts.
A valid provincial Loss Prevention Licence is required where mandated by the province. Because this posting is for a Quebec location, candidates must be able to communicate in French (oral and written).
