About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent
As a Delivery Agent, you’ll spend the majority of your shift on sorting clerk duties performed on a night schedule. Approximately 90% of your time will be dedicated to sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries at the depot before heading out on your route. You’ll be loading and driving a Canada Post postal vehicle, then delivering mail and packages by foot or vehicle to customers along your assigned route.
Teamwork, safety awareness, and reliability are central to this role. You’ll work in all types of weather conditions and be expected to handle parcels and mail items within specified weight requirements throughout your shift. This position is classified as Safety Sensitive, meaning additional requirements apply under Canada Post’s Substance Use Policy.

Responsibilities
A typical shift for a Delivery Agent at Canada Post begins at the depot and moves out into the community. You’ll be responsible for both sorting and delivery operations, making sure every piece of mail and every parcel reaches its destination safely and on time.
- Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot according to a night schedule
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle along your assigned route
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers
- Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery
- Handle parcels safely, lifting items up to 22.7 kg and carrying items up to 15.9 kg regularly throughout the shift
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round

Requirements / Skills
