About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent

Your day kicks off at the depot, where you’ll sort and organize the day’s deliveries before loading up a Canada Post postal vehicle. From there, you’ll head out on your assigned route — delivering mail and parcels by foot or by vehicle — and return at the end of the shift to unload incoming items for future delivery. It’s a role that keeps you moving from start to finish.

This position comes with safety responsibilities, as it is classified as a Safety Sensitive role under Canada Post’s Substance Use Policy. You’ll be expected to work safely and professionally in all kinds of weather conditions, representing Canada Post with every interaction on your route.

Responsibilities

A Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent at Canada Post is responsible for the full delivery cycle — from sorting at the depot to completing routes in the field. These day-to-day duties are the backbone of Canada Post’s service to Canadians and require reliability, physical fitness, and a positive attitude.

• Sort and prepare the day’s mail and packages at the depot before heading out on route
• Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and responsibly
• Deliver mail and parcels by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers along your assigned route
• Return to the depot to unload incoming mail and packages for subsequent delivery
• Work in all weather conditions, maintaining reliability and professionalism throughout the day
• Represent Canada Post as the face of the organization in your community

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate for this delivery agent role is physically active, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors year-round. Canada Post is looking for someone who can handle the demands of a physical job while maintaining a safe driving record and a professional demeanour on route.

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record of at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
• Physical capability to lift items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the shift
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions throughout the year
• On-call availability — this is a temporary, on-call relief position
• Bilingual or unilingual — ability to read, write, and speak English and/or French
• Customer service experience is an asset, as is prior experience in deliveries or driving
