About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent

Your day kicks off at the depot in Repentigny, where you’ll sort and prepare the day’s deliveries before loading them into a Canada Post postal vehicle. From there, you’ll head out on your assigned route, delivering mail and packages both on foot and by vehicle. It’s hands-on work that requires organization, reliability, and a solid work ethic.

This role falls under Safety Sensitive guidelines, meaning there are additional requirements related to Canada Post’s Substance Use Policy. You’ll also need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions and available for on-call shifts as needed. Responsibilities

The day-to-day work of a Letter Carrier is all about reliability and efficiency. From depot prep to route delivery, every step matters to the customers counting on their mail and packages. Here’s what the role involves:

• Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot each morning before heading out on route
• Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle safely throughout your assigned delivery area
• Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers along your route
• Lift and carry mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry parcels up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
• Return to the depot at the end of your route to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery
• Represent Canada Post professionally as the visible face of the organization in the community

Requirements / Skills

Canada Post is looking for candidates who are dependable, physically capable, and comfortable working outdoors in all seasons. The right person for this role takes pride in doing quality work and understands that safe, on-time delivery makes a real difference in people’s lives.

• Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record for at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
• Physical fitness to lift up to 22.7 kg and carry up to 15.9 kg regularly throughout the workday
• Availability for on-call work — flexibility in scheduling is essential for this temporary position
• Ability to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions
• French language proficiency is essential; English and/or French reading, writing, and speaking required
• Customer service experience is an asset, as is experience in delivery or driving roles
