Responsibilities
The day-to-day work of a Letter Carrier is all about reliability and efficiency. From depot prep to route delivery, every step matters to the customers counting on their mail and packages. Here’s what the role involves:
- Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot each morning before heading out on route
- Load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle safely throughout your assigned delivery area
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers along your route
- Lift and carry mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry parcels up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
- Return to the depot at the end of your route to unload incoming mail and packages for later delivery
- Represent Canada Post professionally as the visible face of the organization in the community
Requirements / Skills
