About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent
As a delivery agent, your day begins at the local depot where you’ll sort and prepare outgoing mail and packages before heading out on your assigned route. You’ll be driving a Canada Post postal vehicle and making deliveries on foot to customers throughout the community — rain, snow, or shine.
This role requires both physical stamina and a reliable, professional attitude. You’ll be representing Canada Post to every customer you encounter, so a positive presence and a commitment to safe, accurate delivery are essential. At the end of your shift, you’ll return to the depot to unload incoming items for subsequent delivery.

Responsibilities

- Sort and prepare the day’s mail and parcels at the depot before heading out on route
- Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and responsibly
- Deliver mail and packages by foot or vehicle to residential and business customers along your assigned route
- Maintain a professional presence as the face of Canada Post in the community
- Return to the depot at the end of your shift to unload incoming mail and packages for future delivery
- Work in all weather conditions throughout the year, including winter
Requirements / Skills
Canada Post is looking for candidates who are dependable, physically capable, and ready to represent the organization professionally in the field. The ideal candidate for this on-call delivery agent role is someone comfortable working independently outdoors and committed to safe driving practices.
- Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a clean driving record for at least 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
- Physical ability to lift items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
- Availability to work on-call as needed
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather year-round
- Ability to communicate in English and/or French (either language is acceptable)
- Experience in customer service or delivery/driving roles is considered an asset
