About the Role: Letter Carrier – Delivery Agent

Your day begins at the depot, where you’ll sort and prepare the day’s deliveries before loading up a Canada Post postal vehicle. From there, you’ll head out on your assigned route, delivering mail and packages both on foot and by vehicle. At the end of your shift, you’ll return to the depot to unload incoming items for future delivery.

This role requires working in all types of weather year-round, so a love of the outdoors is genuinely helpful. You’ll also be representing Canada Post directly to customers, so a professional and courteous attitude goes a long way. As an on-call position, flexibility with your availability is essential.

Responsibilities

As a Delivery Agent with Canada Post, your daily routine will combine depot operations with active fieldwork on your route. These responsibilities are central to keeping Canadians connected and ensuring that every parcel and piece of mail reaches its destination reliably and on time.

  • Sort and prepare the day’s deliveries at the depot each morning before heading out on route
  • Load and operate a Canada Post postal vehicle safely and in accordance with driving regulations
  • Deliver mail and packages to customers along your assigned route, both on foot and by vehicle
  • Return to the depot at the end of your shift to unload incoming mail and packages for future delivery
  • Represent Canada Post professionally as the direct point of contact for customers in your community
  • Work in all weather conditions throughout the year, maintaining reliability and safety on the job

Requirements / Skills

Canada Post is looking for dependable, physically active candidates who are comfortable working outdoors and can manage their route independently. The ideal candidate has a clean driving record, strong time management skills, and the flexibility to be available on call as needed.

  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for a minimum of 3 years (driver’s abstract required)
  • Physical fitness to lift mail items up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) throughout the day
  • On-call availability — must be able to report to work as needed
  • Language proficiency in English and/or French (French is essential for this location)
  • Weather adaptability — ability to work comfortably in all types of Canadian weather conditions
  • Customer service experience is considered an asset
  • Previous delivery or driving experience is an asset
