HPC-EDA Technical GTM Specialist – Amazon Web Services – Vancouver, BC

At the intersection of semiconductor innovation and cloud computing, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a HPC-EDA Technical GTM Specialist to join the WWSO HPC Team in Vancouver, British Columbia. This role places you at the forefront of helping semiconductor companies modernize their chip design and verification workflows by migrating mission-critical Electronic Design Automation (EDA) workloads to the cloud. You’ll be the bridge between the industry’s most complex computational challenges and AWS’s most advanced cloud capabilities, working with global semiconductor design houses, fabless companies, and integrated device manufacturers alike.

About the Role: HPC-EDA Technical GTM Specialist

As a Business Development Specialist focused on HPC EDA Workloads, you will lead the global go-to-market (GTM) strategy for EDA workloads on AWS. You’ll work directly with semiconductor customers to architect, optimize, and scale demanding compute-intensive and memory-intensive design flows on AWS services such as EC2, ParallelCluster, Batch, and FSx for Lustre. Internally, you’ll collaborate with AWS service teams, engineering, marketing, professional services, and sales leadership to influence product roadmaps and scale execution.

From technical deep-dives with chip design teams at Global 500 semiconductor companies to keynote presentations at industry conferences like DAC, DVCon, and SEMICON, your impact will span technical and executive audiences. You’ll also serve as a thought leader and evangelist for the AWS EDA community, setting direction and standards for how AWS approaches EDA workload migrations across the globe.

Benefits and Salary

This position comes with a base salary range of $111,300 to $185,800 CAD annually for the Vancouver location. As part of Amazon’s total compensation package, additional elements may include sign-on payments and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and location. Responsibilities

This role demands a rare combination of deep EDA technical expertise and strategic business development acumen. You’ll be leading GTM motions, influencing product roadmaps, and building relationships across the semiconductor ecosystem — all while staying credible in highly technical conversations with chip design engineers and executives alike.

• Lead the GTM strategy for HPC EDA workloads, orchestrating efforts across sales, marketing, partner, product, and professional services teams to accelerate AWS adoption in semiconductor design workflows
• Define and articulate the vision for next-generation cloud-based EDA infrastructure addressing frontend and backend chip design, verification, and signoff requirements
• Work directly with semiconductor customers to understand their EDA workload requirements and architect scalable, high-memory solutions on AWS
• Bring market signals and competitive intelligence back to AWS product teams to drive innovation, particularly for EDA-specific instance types
• Serve as a thought leader and evangelist for HPC EDA workloads on AWS at industry events such as DAC, DVCon, and SEMICON
• Build and maintain relationships with EDA ISV partners to ensure tool compatibility, optimize performance, and create joint GTM initiatives
• Develop field enablement content, sales strategies, and reference architectures leveraging deep domain expertise in EDA tools, HPC orchestrators, and semiconductor design flows
• Own reporting and planning cadences with executives on GTM plan execution, pipeline health, and progress toward EDA workload expansion targets

Requirements / Skills

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of semiconductor industry knowledge, HPC infrastructure experience, and the communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for both engineering and business audiences. AWS values candidates who can operate at the intersection of deep domain expertise and strategic business thinking.

• 7+ years of GTM, Business Development, Sales, or Consulting experience in the semiconductor or EDA industry
• 5+ years of HPC infrastructure experience, including cloud computing concepts and architecture for compute-intensive and memory-intensive workloads
• Experience with EDA tools and workflows, including frontend design (RTL, synthesis, simulation) and/or backend design (place and route, timing closure, signoff)
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience
• Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations across leadership and cross-functional teams (preferred)
