Job Summary & Tips for Applying

AI-generated summary and tips to help you highlight your strengths effectively.

Quick Summary & What to Highlight: The Data Scientist, ADE Analytics job at Amazon in Vancouver centres on analyzing Alexa data and turning it into product recommendations. Put your SQL or Python experience first, then your time as a data scientist or quantitative analyst at an internet-based company, then your STEM master’s degree, each tied to the analysis and pipeline duties.

Resume & Application Tips: Group your experience under the three areas this job names: problem-solving, data infrastructure and communication. Under infrastructure, describe the SQL and ETL queries and pipelines you have built. Under communication, show work where you turned analysis into dashboards or recommendations for non-technical partners. A bullet such as “built a churn analysis that cut support contacts by 12%” shows the format; use a result from your own work.

Interview Preparation: Prepare one or two examples from your own work that match the main duties: finding the root cause of an anomaly in a large dataset, and explaining a technical result to a non-technical stakeholder. Be ready to talk about machine learning and about evaluating AI systems, since both appear in the preferred qualifications. Good questions to ask cover how the team splits work with Applied Science and which datasets you would use first.
