General Merchandise Associate – Walmart – Thetford-Mines, QC

Walmart’s store in Thetford-Mines, Quebec is looking for a General Merchandise Associate to join their team on a temporary (fixed-term) basis. This is a hands-on retail role where you’ll be the friendly face customers count on while keeping the salesfloor stocked, organized, and ready for business.

Day to day, you’ll greet customers, help them find what they need, maintain your assigned merchandise area, and work alongside your team to make sure the store runs smoothly across all scheduled shifts — including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights.

About the Role: General Merchandise Associate

As a General Merchandise Associate, your main focus is delivering exceptional customer service while keeping the salesfloor looking its best. You’ll be responsible for stocking shelves, zoning assigned areas, setting and completing modulars, and moving feature merchandise back to its proper home on the floor. You’ll also assist with front-end coverage and work recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk.

Maintaining a safe, clean, and hazard-free work environment is a key part of this role. You’ll follow Company policies and procedures, complete safety sweep logs, and make sure all displays and fixtures are secure. Strong communication with fellow associates ensures consistent floor coverage throughout every shift.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts at $18.75 per hour. Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be actively engaged on the salesfloor throughout your shift — serving customers, maintaining merchandise areas, and supporting your team. Here’s a closer look at what you’ll be doing on a regular basis:

• Greet and assist customers in a polite and friendly manner, helping them locate merchandise and make purchase decisions
• Promote products and services while resolving customer concerns and referring issues to the appropriate team member when needed
• Zone and maintain your assigned area on the salesfloor to keep it tidy and well-organized
• Stock shelves and downstock merchandise as applicable, applying product protection where required
• Set and complete modulars, including flex modulars and new shelf caps
• Move feature merchandise back to its modular home and work recovery merchandise from the Customer Service desk
• Assist with Front End coverage and communicate with associates to ensure consistent floor coverage
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following Company policy, completing safety sweep logs, and ensuring displays and fixtures are secure
